Phillip Otero
Mr. Otero formed Catasana LLC in August 2009, bringing 28 years of diversified corporate finance, lending and fund management experience. Prior to forming Catasana, Mr. Otero was a Senior Vice President of Alcentra, Inc., where he managed a portfolio of Collateralized Loan Obligations. His loan management experience was an extension of his work in the distressed debt team at Oaktree Capital Management. Prior to Oaktree, he was a Managing Director at Unifund S.A. and ran the Moscow, Mexico City and Bangkok investment offices. Prior to Unifund, Mr. Otero worked for both Bank of America and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce as a commercial lender involved in business development, credit analysis and leveraged loan portfolio monitoring and management. Mr. Otero's fund management experience includes managing a portfolio of leveraged loans, distressed U.S. and emerging market debt and emerging market public and private investments in Asia, Latin America and Russia. Prior financial markets experience includes raising public and private capital, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking advisory services and commercial and leveraged lending. Mr. Otero received an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA in 1983 and a BS Cum Laude in Business Administration in 1979 and a BS Cum Laude in Chemistry in 1978 from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona.
Tippayawadee Otero
Ms. Otero (Pui is her Thai nickname) started her career as an equity analyst for Barings plc in Thailand. She subsequently was a founding member in Assets Plus Securities where she was the lead investment banker in several leading Thai mergers and acquisitions. After the sale of Assets Plus to Bangkok Bank, she was the lead asset manager of AIG's Thai equity portfolio.
